Timchenko's arrest was extended for a month to the former head of the UCC
Alexey Timchenko, the former head of the Digital Transformation Department of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN), was arrested for a month. This was reported to Izvestia in court on February 10.
Thus, Timchenko will be in custody until November 19.
Timchenko's detention became known on August 20, 2024. At the same time, it was reported that representatives of the Moscow Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation had begun investigating his case. The next day, Izvestia published footage of Timchenko's detention, which was subsequently extended on October 16, 2025.
It follows from court materials dated November 18, 2025, that Timchenko pleaded guilty to accepting a bribe of 1.5 million rubles, which also included four iPhone smartphones. As it is emphasized, a criminal case was also initiated against this person involved, who concluded a pre-trial agreement. He is conditionally convicted under Part 5 of Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Giving a bribe on an especially large scale").
