Specialists of the urban economy complex have begun construction of a pedestrian bridge on Bolotnaya Embankment in Moscow. This was announced on Monday, January 9, by the Deputy Mayor of the capital for Housing and Communal Services and landscaping, Peter Biryukov.

According to him, a new structure with a length of about 170 m will appear in the channel of the Drainage Canal and connect the sections of the embankment separated by Serafimovich Street, writes Moscow 24. The project provides for four descents and the completion of a single pedestrian route from Vorobyovy Gory through Gorky Park and the Crimean Embankment to Baltschug Island.

He explained that the work will be carried out from the water from a special embankment, so traffic will be maintained, and short-term restrictions are possible only with the delivery of materials. Biryukov added that the embankment will be formed from two barges, then pile foundations for 11 pillars will be installed, a superstructure, railings and architectural and artistic lighting will be installed, using techniques selected taking into account height restrictions. He also noted the uniqueness of the project, since some of the work will have to be carried out in the conditions of the height-limited scaffolding space of the Maly Kamenny Bridge, the Moscow City News agency reports.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
