Russian figure skater Pyotr Gumennik opened the competition in the men's short program at the 2026 Olympics in Italy. His speech took place on Tuesday, February 10, at 20:30 Moscow time. The athlete competed in a neutral status to the soundtrack from the film "Onegin" by composer Edgar Hakobyan. According to the results of the competition, he took 12th place.

As part of the 2026 Olympic Games, Humennik will also perform a free skate on February 13, starting at 21:00 Moscow time.

Pyotr Gumennik is a Russian figure skater who competes in single skating. He was born on April 11, 2002 in St. Petersburg. The athlete started training at the age of four. His first mentor was the current director of the Spartak school, Tatyana Yurysheva.

Currently, the figure skater trains at Tamara Moskvina's club under the guidance of Veronika Daineko, showing high results. In the 2018-19 season, he won a bronze medal at the World Junior Championships, and in 2020, he won a silver in the junior Grand Prix final. Among his recent titles is the title of champion of Russia in figure skating.

Each performance by Humennik is a combination of high technology and artistry. At the 2026 Olympics, he has one of the most technically challenging numbers, which includes five quadruple jumps and other difficult elements.
