53 migrants died or went missing in a boat crash in the Mediterranean Sea.
As a result of the capsizing of a boat off the coast of Libya, 53 migrants died or went missing, and two more managed to escape. This was reported on February 9 by The Guardian newspaper, citing data from the United Nations Migration Agency (UN).
"53 people have died or are missing after a boat capsized in the Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Libya. Only two survivors were rescued," the article says.
The survivors, two women, said that a boat with migrants and refugees of African nationalities sailed from the Libyan city of Al-Zawiya on February 5. It is emphasized that the ship sank approximately six hours after departure.
The TNT World portal reported in October last year that 18 people died when a ship carrying illegal migrants crashed in Libya. Then it became known about 64 survivors, including one minor.
