The French industrial group Thales, which manufactures information systems for aerospace, military and marine applications, intends to significantly expand its staff and hire more than 9,000 people worldwide in 2026. This was reported on February 9 by the Franceinfo TV channel.

"More than half of these vacancies are in the military sector, with candidates for positions ranging from skilled workers to engineers, with various skill levels ranging from professional certificates to doctoral degrees," the publication says.

It is noted that out of 9 thousand vacancies, 3.3 thousand people will be hired in France. The rest are represented in the USA, Australia, India, Singapore and other countries.

The company noted that staff is being recruited to fulfill "the ever-growing volume of orders received after the outbreak of hostilities in Ukraine." Mathieu Motillon, director of recruitment in France, acknowledged that the unstable geopolitical situation is contributing to the "increased activity" of the military company, which has already "more than tripled the production of radar systems." Due to the growing demand, for the past five years, French Thales has been forced to hire at least 8 thousand people per year.

At the same time, such a surge is observed in various military-industrial companies and defense-related departments. According to estimates by Benoit Labrousse, president of the Randstad France recruiting company, the military industry provides approximately 200,000 jobs in France.

In December last year, the head of the Federation Council's information policy commission, Alexei Pushkov, said that the European military-industrial complex was interested in prolonging the Ukrainian conflict, as it earned it a large share of the state budgets of the European Union and NATO countries. He noted that Europe's leading defense companies such as BAE Systems, Thales, Dassault, Rheinmetall and Saab have significantly increased their dividends to their shareholders in recent years.
