Moscow will increase the pace of housing renovation
Renovation is a driver of housing construction growth in the capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The head of the capital said that the pace of housing construction under the program will be increased.
As part of the renovation in 2025, 2.3 million square meters were commissioned in Moscow, the mayor said in the MACH channel. A total of 7.9 million square meters have been built under the program since 2017, and as of December last year, it has been implemented by more than a quarter.
The number of displaced citizens under the renovation program has reached 250,000, Sobyanin told Putin. "Our company that does this, the Renovation Fund, has become the number one in the country in terms of housing construction. Moreover, this is not just housing on the market — it is housing for relocation from dilapidated housing, this is very important," stressed the mayor of Moscow, quoted by mos.ru .
Innovative technologies in construction have helped greatly reduce the delivery time of housing, Sobyanin stressed. "Now houses can be built in just six months," said the mayor of the capital, adding that this is three times faster than standards.
At the end of 2025, the first house under the renovation program was commissioned in Cheryomushki, built from large modules in just 6.5 months. The modules are manufactured at a robotic factory located in TiNAO.
