Iran says it is ready to reduce uranium enrichment if US sanctions are lifted.
Iran will reduce the level of uranium enrichment if the United States lifts all sanctions against Tehran. This was announced on February 9 by Mohammad Eslami, Vice President of the Islamic Republic, head of the country's Atomic Energy Organization (OEAI).
"The possibility of discussing in negotiations [with the United States] a reduction in the level of enrichment of uranium enriched to 60% depends on (whether Washington can) lift all sanctions in response," Eslami was quoted by the Iranian ISNA news agency in a Telegram channel.
He noted that Iran conducted an inspection of all uranium enrichment centers that were not affected by the attacks. According to him, the promised security guarantees were violated during the attack on these facilities.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on January 7 that in the event of a US attack on Iran, Tehran plans to retaliate against American military bases in the region. He explained that such an attack would not be considered a strike on neighboring countries, since the target would be US facilities with American personnel.
