Luge skier Daria Olesik will compete at the Olympics on February 10

Athlete Daria Olesik will take part in two single sledge races at the 2026 Olympic Games on Tuesday, February 10. The first one will be held at 19:00, and the second one at 20:41 Moscow time. The athlete will represent Russia in a neutral status, without using national symbols.

Daria Olesik was born in 2004. Her journey into luge began at the age of 10, impressed by the victories of Russian athletes at the 2014 Olympic Games.

Already in 2017, she achieved her first success, becoming the bronze medalist of the Youth Cup of Russia in Sochi in her age category (14-15 years). A year later, Olesik joined the junior national team, took third place at the Russian championship in single sledge and made her debut at the Junior World Cup.

At the adult level, she consolidated her success by winning bronze medals at the Russian Championships in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, Daria reached the top of the podium for the first time, becoming the national champion, and also won the Leonid Gart Memorial Cup twice. In 2025, she added the silver of the national championship to the piggy bank.

In the same year, 2025, Olesik received a neutral status, which allowed her to compete at the World Cup. Her debut starts included 19th place in Cortina d'Ampezzo and fourth place at the Nations Cup in Lake Placid. The points scored in the overall World Cup allowed the athlete to compete at the 2026 Olympic Games.
