Vandals damaged a monument to a soldier of the First World War in Pskov
Pskov police have launched an investigation into the damage to the monument to a soldier of the First World War. It is installed on the embankment of the Velikaya River.
As the Ministry of Internal Affairs told the Pskov news feed, the police are identifying persons who may be involved in the commission of an act of vandalism, and are investigating the circumstances of the incident. A procedural decision will be made based on the results of the audit.
The act of vandalism was recorded the day before, on February 8. A bayonet was broken off at the monument.
Earlier it was reported that in the city of Obninsk, Kaluga region, a man damaged a memorial sign dedicated to those who died in the Great Patriotic War. A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 243.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Damage to objects commemorating those who died in the Great Patriotic War").
