Murmansk region will be opened to tourists from India. Relevant negotiations between regional tour operators and their Indian counterparts will take place in Murmansk in March.

According to Bi-port news agency with reference to the regional Export Support Center, a reverse business mission is expected to arrive in Murmansk. This format involves inviting a foreign delegation to negotiate the supply of goods and services.

Murmansk tour operators expressed the opinion that India could become one of the main directions of inbound tourism development. They are sure that there is quite a high demand in India among those who want to see the "closest Arctic".

In addition, Thailand, the United Arab Emirates, China and Indonesia are among the top 5 countries that are of interest to polar tour operators.

Business meetings, negotiations and visits to tourist sites are planned as part of the business mission. The purpose is to introduce experts from India to the tourism potential of the Murmansk region.

As a result of this trip, a decision will be made to hold similar meetings with potential partners from other countries.

Earlier it was reported that 26.5 thousand people had a rest in the sanatoriums of the Murmansk region for six months. In 2025, the indicator increased by 7.2% compared to the same period in 2024. According to the number of vacationers, the sanatoriums of the Kola Arctic Region were in fifth place in the North-Western Federal District.
