Lavrov stated the need to eliminate the Nazi foundations of Ukraine
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on February 9 that the "Nazi foundations" in Ukraine must be eliminated, as this is a condition for ensuring the security of the Russian Federation.
"The Nazi foundations must be eliminated. And we will ensure, I have no doubt about it, the interests of our security by preventing the deployment of any types of weapons threatening us on Ukrainian territory," Sergey Lavrov said in an interview with TV BRICS.
The Russian Foreign Minister added that Russia would not allow the deployment of any types of weapons on the territory of Ukraine, which, according to Moscow, could threaten the interests of Russian security.
"The Russian Federation will not allow the deployment of any types of weapons in Ukraine that threaten Russia's interests," he said.
In addition, Lavrov said that Russia had accepted the US proposal on Ukraine and expressed confidence in the possibility of resolving the situation.
The Russian side has repeatedly stressed that security issues and the prevention of threats near its borders are key conditions for any agreements on the Ukrainian direction.
At a press conference on February 6, after talks with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis and OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu, Sergey Lavrov announced his readiness to discuss security issues with the United States within the framework of the strategic stability dialogue.
