Details about the accomplice of the assassination attempt on Alekseev have become known.

On February 9, the FSB's Public Relations Center confirmed earlier information that Viktor Vasin, an accomplice in the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev of the Ministry of Defense, adhered to the views of the FBK organization (recognized as an extremist and terrorist organization, a foreign agent and banned in the Russian Federation).

According to the FSB, Vasin acted for terrorist reasons. According to the FSB, he was a supporter of the international FBK, recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization, and also took part in unauthorized protest actions in Moscow.

The ministry noted that the person involved was involved in the projects of this organization and published materials on social networks against amendments to the Constitution of Russia. In addition, he expressed support for other extremist individuals and structures.
