Musk announced his intention to build cities on the Moon and Mars
American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk intends to build cities on the Moon and Mars. He wrote about this on February 8 on the social network X.
"SpaceX has already shifted its focus to building a self-developing city on the Moon, as this is potentially possible in less than 10 years, while on Mars it will take more than 20 years. SpaceX's mission remains unchanged: to spread consciousness and life as we know them, all the way to the stars," the statement said.
According to Musk, a flight to Mars can only be carried out at the moment when the planets line up, which happens every 26 months. At the same time, you can supposedly fly to the moon every 10 days.
On January 25, a SpaceX rocket launched another group of 25 Starlink Internet satellites into orbit. The launch was carried out from the SLC-4E site at the Vandenberg base in California.
On February 1, SpaceX submitted an application for the creation of orbital data centers for artificial intelligence (AI). A single circuit will include the production of rockets and space technologies. The Starlink satellite system will become part of the combined assets. The Grok AI project and the X social network (ex. Twitter) will be part of the overall ecosystem.
