Szijjarto pointed to the breakdown by EU leaders of the peace agreement on Ukraine

The leaders of the European Union (EU) countries accompanied Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky during his visit to Washington in 2022 to prevent him and US leader Donald Trump from understanding the need for a peace agreement with Russia. This was stated on February 8 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto in an interview with the Georgian TV channel Rustavi 2.

"The Europeans somehow exerted pressure, pushed or instructed - let's choose the right word — President Zelensky to make a decision on the continuation of the conflict. They did not give Zelensky the opportunity to conclude an agreement," he said.
