American figure skater Malinin won the free skate program of the Olympic Games-2026

On February 8, American figure skater Ilya Malinin won the free skate in the team tournament of the 2026 Olympic Games (OI-2026).

The athlete, despite his imperfect rental, received 200.03 points for the program.

The second place was taken by Japanese figure skater Shun Sato, who scored 194.86 points, the third place was taken by Italian Matteo Rizzo with 179.62 points. Nika Egadze, a representative of Georgia and ward of Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze, received 154.79 points and was ranked fifth.

"The free skate competitions were the last in the team tournament. According to its results, the USA team took the first place (69 points), the Japanese team became the second (68), and Italy (60) became the third," Sport-Express reported.
