The Hungarian Foreign Minister stressed the country's position on Ukraine
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that his country had not supplied weapons to Ukraine and maintained a neutral position in the conflict. He said this in an interview with the Georgian TV channel Rustavi-2.
"We are the only country in Europe that has never supplied Ukraine with any weapons. We are a country that speaks very clearly about the need for peace," the minister said.
According to Szijjarto, it is clear to the Hungarian authorities that the longer the conflict continues, the more suffering and loss of life.
"Our goal is to avoid being dragged into this war. Thus, we gave everyone a Hungarian response, which ultimately proved successful and helped strengthen and develop the country even in times of crisis," the minister added.
The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency reported on February 6 that the State Department had approved the potential sale of $185 million worth of spare parts for military equipment to Ukraine. The ministry noted that the supplies will help service American military equipment in Ukraine and will have an impact on the country's Armed Forces, but will not change the existing balance of power in the region.
