French skier Delauge took a shortcut to the OI-2026 and beat Korostelev.
On February 8, French skier Mathis Delauge cut the track during the skiathlon at the Olympic Games 2026 (OI-2026) and beat Russian skier Savely Korostylev.
The athlete received a yellow card from the judges for the violation.
Delozh took the second place in the end. At the end of the race, the Russian side protested against the results, but the judges considered that the French athlete had not received a tangible advantage.
"I cut the corner too sharply, I didn't think about it, but it didn't help me at all. It was my mistake! The yellow card was well—deserved, but this mistake did not help me and was not intentional," Sport-Express quoted Deloge as saying, referring to Francetv.
