Comedian Saburov expressed gratitude for the ban on entry to Russia.
On February 8, stand-up comedian Nurlan Saburov deleted all posts on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, which is recognized as an extremist organization in the Russian Federation) and appealed to fans.
"I will not comment on the current situation, there are lawyers, they will deal with issues with all competent authorities at their level. Time will put everything in its place," he wrote.
About 1.4 million people follow Saburov on Instagram. In his address, he recalled that his career as a comedian started 15 years ago in Yekaterinburg. Saburov added that over the years he had been "warmly and amicably" welcomed in many Russian cities.
"I am grateful to the country where I got the opportunity for creative development, established myself as an artist and gained a large multinational audience both in Russia and abroad. Thank you," he stressed.
Saburov also asked to respect the private life of his family.
The comedian did not delete any publications from his page on the VKontakte social network.
Saburov was banned from entering Russia for 50 years on January 30. As noted on February 6, this decision was made in the interests of national security.
According to the Izvestia source, the comedian flew to Moscow from Dubai, and two air marshals followed him, who were supposed to forcibly pick him up for shipment to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Later, the source said that Saburov refused Russian citizenship, citing "commercial risks."
Before flying to Kazakhstan, the comedian did not give any comments. Upon arrival in Alma Ata, he also did not answer the questions of the Izvestia correspondent and quickly ran into the car.
