- The ex-wife of the billionaire Galitsky did not enter the pre-trial detention center in Moscow and the Moscow region
Aliya, the ex-wife of Russian billionaire and former member of the board of directors of Alfa-Bank Alexander Galitsky, who is suspected of extorting a large sum from her ex-husband, has not been admitted to pre-trial detention centers (SIZOs) in the Moscow region. This was reported to Izvestia on February 8 by the press service of the Federal Penitentiary Service (FSIN).
Earlier that day, the media, citing a source, reported that Aliya Galitskaya was allegedly found dead in jail on Saturday, February 7. It was claimed that the preliminary version of the woman's death was suicide.
Prior to that, on February 6, RIA Novosti reported on Galitskaya's arrest in the case of extortion of $150 million from her ex-husband. According to the agency, she must remain in custody until April 3.
"Due to the information spreading in the media that Galitskaya A. committed suicide in the pre—trial detention center, we inform you that there were no suicides in the pre-trial detention center in the Moscow region," the FSIN told Izvestia.
They added that Galitskaya had not been admitted to the pre-trial detention facilities in Moscow and the Moscow region.
In October last year, it became known that Alexander Galitsky's property worth 435 million rubles was seized by the Presnensky Court of Moscow. The list of seized property includes several real estate objects, including an apartment on Patriarch's Ponds, a cottage in the village of Millennium Park on Novorizhskoye Highway, an apartment in the Turgenev clubhouse, as well as three parking spaces for a car.
