The new Ka-32A11BC firefighting helicopter has arrived at the Moscow Aviation Center. This was announced by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin in his channel in the messenger MAX.

"It is equipped with an avionics and location system, adapted to work in dense urban areas and difficult conditions. All systems consist of domestic components, the software was developed by specialists from the National Helicopter Engineering Center," the mayor wrote.

Helicopters of this type are used to eliminate large fires and wildfires. Fire extinguishing is carried out using spillway devices on an external suspension, the capacity of which reaches five tons of water, as well as horizontal and vertical fire extinguishing systems. If necessary, foam tanks are used.

The crew of the Ka-32 helicopter consists of two pilots and a flight mechanic. The Moscow Aviation Center employs more than 400 specialists. All employees are highly qualified and prepared to work in difficult conditions.

The mayor also noted that the only female pilot working in the capital's air ambulance is Ekaterina Oreshnikova. She controls the VK117C-2 helicopter, carries out evacuation of victims from the sites of fires, traffic accidents and other accidents, and also transports patients to medical institutions.

In total, the city has 13 helicopters in service, including fire fighting, sanitary and aerial monitoring. The crews are on round-the-clock duty. The average arrival time for a call is from 10 to 15 minutes.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
