The accomplice of the assassination attempt on General Alekseev managed to leave for Ukraine

Zinaida Serebritskaya, an accomplice in the assassination attempt on the first Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, has left for Ukraine. This was announced on February 8 at the Center for Public Relations of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia.

"The accomplices of this crime, citizens of Russia, have been identified: Viktor Vasin, born in 1959, detained in Moscow, and Zinaida Serebritskaya, born in 1971, who left for Ukraine," the special service said in a statement.

The ministry clarified that these individuals were identified during operational search activities as part of the investigation of a criminal case initiated by the Investigative Committee of Russia.

The Investigative Committee called the activities of the Ukrainian special services one of the versions of the crime.

On the same day, it became known about the arrest of the perpetrator of the assassination attempt and his accomplice. The perpetrator of the assassination attempt on General Alekseev, Lubomir Korba, was arrested in absentia in the capital after being extradited from Dubai. The court charges him with Article 317 of the Criminal Code ("Assault on the life of a law enforcement officer") and Part 4 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code ("Illegal acquisition of weapons by an organized group"). The arrest of the killer's accomplice Viktor Vasin will take place on February 9.

On February 6, an unknown man fired several shots at Alekseev, after which he fled the scene. The victim was taken to one of the city hospitals. On February 7, Alekseev regained consciousness after the assassination attempt.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident under articles on attempted murder and illegal trafficking of firearms. Later, the Investigative Committee reported that an article about an attempt on the life of a serviceman had been added to the case. The Moscow Prosecutor's Office took control of the investigation.
