The killer who shot Alekseev arrived in Moscow in December on the instructions of Kiev.

The killer Lyubomir Korba, who shot at Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev, arrived in Moscow at the end of 2025 on the instructions of the Ukrainian special services to commit a terrorist attack. This was announced on February 8 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of Russia Svetlana Petrenko.

It is noted that Korba was born in the Ternopil region of the Ukrainian SSR. After the assassination attempt, he fled to the UAE, was detained and taken to Moscow.

In the attempt on the general's life, he was assisted by accomplices — Viktor Vasin, who was detained in the Moscow region, and Zinaida Serebritskaya, who fled to Ukraine.
