The Russian Ambassador pointed to the EU's erroneous approach to international diplomacy

Many EU countries have chosen the path of dictating and politicizing the international agenda instead of a rational and multilateral approach to diplomacy. This was announced on February 7 by Russian Ambassador to Belgium Denis Gonchar on the occasion of Diplomatic Worker's Day.

He noted that diplomacy presupposes a willingness to seek a compromise, to "listen and hear" an international partner, and the ability to perceive the position and arguments of the other side, even if they disagree with it. However, the European community chose a different approach instead.

"Instead of such a rational approach, EU–NATO Brussels and many European capitals opted for dictate and mentoring, brandishing a "sanctions cudgel," indiscriminately politicizing the international agenda and Ukrainizing any dossier,— Gonchar told RIA Novosti.
