WHO confirms death of Nipah virus patient in Bangladesh
The World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed the death of a woman aged 40 to 50 who contracted the deadly Nipah virus. This was reported on February 7 by The Independent newspaper.
It is noted that the patient's first symptoms were recorded on January 21. These included fever and headache, followed by increased salivation, disorientation, and seizures.
"According to the authorities, the woman died a week later, and a day later she was confirmed infected with the virus," the publication says.
