On February 7, Italian speed skater Francesca Lollobrigida won the 3,000 m women's race at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and set a new Olympic record.

The athlete covered the distance in 3 minutes 54.28 seconds, thus she brought Italy the first gold in this program. The second place was taken by the athlete from Norway, Ragne Viklund, who lost 2.26 seconds to the winner. The bronze medal was won by Valerie Malte of Canada with a gap of 2.65 seconds.

Russian athlete Ksenia Korzhova, competing in neutral status, finished in 12th position with a score of 4 minutes 5.84 seconds.

Speed skating competitions are held as part of the XXV Winter Olympic Games, which are hosted by Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from February 6 to 22, 2026.
