A teenager lost several fingers when a firecracker exploded, which he picked up while taking out garbage in Lyubertsy, Moscow region. This was announced on February 7 by a source of Izvestia.

The object exploded in the victim's hands in Lyubertsy. The boy was taken to the hospital, and several fingers had to be amputated. Investigators are working on the spot.

The Children's Ombudsman in the Moscow Region, Ksenia Mishonova, said that comprehensive support would be provided to the victim's family and urged parents to be vigilant.

"An emergency has occurred today. In Lyubertsy, a 16-year-old boy saw an object on the ground that looked like a firecracker and picked it up. There was an explosion. The boy has injured fingers on his hand. The teenager is currently receiving medical care. The family will be provided with full participation and assistance," she wrote on the Telegram channel.

The Ombudsman called on parents to hold explanatory conversations with their children so that they do not pick anything up from the ground, and stressed that enemies stop at nothing, and children can become their targets.

Earlier, on January 27, in Stavropol, a child was injured due to the explosion of a pyrotechnic device in the form of a toy grenade. The boy found an unknown object, similar to a plastic toy in the form of a grenade, on the street and brought it home, where the explosion occurred.
