Russians were told the signs of bad tea
People often don't know how to tell good tea from bad tea. About what you need to pay attention to when choosing tea and what myths about the quality of tea you don't need to believe, February 7, Gazeta.Ru" was told by Marina Moiseyak, Professor of the Department of Fermentation Technology and Winemaking at ROSBIOTECH University.
According to her, high-quality tea can have a fine fraction, tea dust and a variety of shades.
"Tea dust — is formed during the drying of the tea leaf. When the tea leaves undergo the process of twisting to begin the fermentation process, the juice from the leaves comes to the surface of the leaves. It contains extractive substances inside the cell, and later forms the so-called "tea dust" when dried...> There is nothing harmful in it and cannot be," explained Moiseyak.
The presence of a small fraction of tea in tea bags is a necessity as part of a snack, and there is nothing harmful about it, according to the professor.
The color of the tea depends on the depth of fermentation and the type of tea, and grayish shades may be natural.
"The gray shades of the tea are silvery, it has a fermented upper unopened leaf, it has very high nutritional characteristics, contains the most bound caffeine, so if there are gray leaves in the tea bag, this is a good indicator," the expert noted.
Speaking about the signs of poor-quality tea, Moiseyak asked to pay attention to the smell of tea.
"It's bad if there is a smell of stale grass, putrid, rubber and other unusual odors. These side effects are possible in case of stale tea and in case of violation of storage conditions," the specialist noted.
Also, do not think that large—leaved tea is always of high quality - the top three leaves, which are usually not so large, are of great value. A large leaf is most likely older, which means it will release less extractive substances.
The expert recommended reading the information on the packaging. The lack of data on the country of origin, the region of collection, the type of tea or the manufacturer is typical for a cheap and most likely low-quality product.
According to Moiseyak, bad tea can irritate the gastric mucosa, cause heartburn, headaches and allergic reactions.

The specialist noted that coffee should be drunk only in the morning, and stressed that in order for the drink to benefit, it is important to limit both time and quantity. He explained that it is optimal to consume one cup a day, and two are acceptable only with a good metabolism of caffeine.
