Residents of Germany are most often among EU citizens who have applied for asylum in Russia.

Among the citizens of the European Union (EU) member states, residents of Germany most often applied for temporary asylum in Russia. This became known on February 7 from the statistics.

In 2020, the Russian Federation received only two such statements from the Germans. But the following year, the number of applicants increased to 54 people — the country ranked seventh in terms of the number of asylum seekers in Russia, TASS reports.
