- The military police of the Russian Armed Forces helped civilians to leave Krasnoarmeysk
The military police of the Center group of forces of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation ensured the exit of civilians from the liberated city of Krasnoarmeysk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR). On February 7, the Russian Defense Ministry reported on the fulfillment of humanitarian and law enforcement tasks by Russian military personnel.
It is noted that the settlement is shelled daily by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Due to the emerging threats, the evacuation of civilians is carried out daily, taking into account the situation. People are being escorted out of the city in small groups along the safest routes, accompanied by military police on the way.
Then, civilians are taken to temporary accommodation facilities in safe areas, where they are assisted by volunteers and military personnel. Individual work is carried out with each person.
"This is one of several temporary accommodation facilities established in the DPR. To date, 2,225 people from the liberated settlements have passed through the IDP. People arrive here, are provided with overnight accommodation, food, our military police personnel and volunteers work with them, the necessary data is recorded for further escort," said Vladimir Chelnokov, a soldier of the military police department of the 159th military commandant's office of the Center group of forces.
After completing all necessary procedures, civilians are transferred to their relatives or sent to their place of further residence. They can receive medical, social, or humanitarian assistance during their stay in the IDP. They are also issued Russian passports as soon as possible, and other lost documents are restored.
"We had military men walking the streets. They said it was possible to evacuate, they told us where to go. <..> We got out," recalls Elena Vasilenko, an evacuated resident of Krasnoarmeysk.
Other local residents who left the city told Izvestia on January 25 that the evacuation of civilians remaining in Krasnoarmeysk was proceeding very quickly and efficiently. Russian military personnel assist citizens in this process.
On January 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on the establishment of Military Police Day in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. The holiday will be celebrated on February 8. The decree came into force on the day of its signing.
