The State Duma announced an increase in pensions for a number of citizens

Starting from March 1, it is planned to increase pensions for pensioners over 80 years of age and for people with disabilities of the first group. This was announced on February 7 by State Duma Deputy Alexei Govyrin.

"For those pensioners who turned 80 in February 2026, starting from March 1, an increase in the fixed payment to the old-age insurance pension will be established. The increase is 100%, that is, the fixed payment in the pension is doubled. It is important to understand that it is the fixed payment that doubles, and not the entire pension," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

It is noted that this measure does not apply to disability and survivor's insurance pensions.

According to the deputy, the increase is assigned automatically.
