- Orban pointed to EU attempts to take money away from Hungarian families and send it to Ukraine
The European Union (EU) is trying to take money away from Hungarian families in order to transfer funds to Ukraine. This was announced on February 6 by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on the social network X.
"Brussels bureaucrats are reaching out, trying to take money away from our families in order to redirect it to Kiev," he said.
Orban added that the EU considers it "heresy" to put family first. In Hungary, such ideas are called a manifestation of common sense, the politician noted.
On the same day, the Hungarian leader announced Hungary's refusal to support NATO in sending troops to Ukraine. He stressed that such plans are presented as guarantees of security for Kiev, but in fact they create a risk of direct conflict with Russia.
Also on February 4, the politician said that Europe does not have complete information about the situation in Ukraine due to the ban on broadcasting Russian media in European countries. It is precisely the unilateral position maintained in the European media sphere that does not allow EU countries to objectively assess the situation.
