Reuters has learned about Kiev's conditions for settlement negotiations.
Ukraine refuses to conclude an agreement on a peaceful settlement of the conflict with Russia without security guarantees from the United States and its partners. This was reported on February 6 by the Reuters news agency, citing a source.
"Kiev's position is that nothing can be agreed upon until security guarantees for Ukraine are provided by the United States and its partners," the agency quoted the source as saying.
According to Reuters, the Ukrainian side insists on receiving such guarantees before signing any agreements, considering them a key condition for the start of the peace process.
Earlier in the day, a source close to the Abu Dhabi talks said that Ukraine was seeking to include security guarantees for Odessa in a possible peace document. According to him, Kiev considers a critically important mechanism that would exclude the possibility of an attack on the city. These requirements are considered by the Ukrainian side as an integral part of the negotiation package.
