In Ukraine, they expressed the desire of the country's residents to compromise with Russia

Ukrainians support the idea of a territorial compromise with Russia, but they are afraid to openly express their position. This was announced on February 6 by the head of the military administration of the Mykolaiv region, Vitaly Kim.

According to him, such sentiments are typical for a number of regions of the country, but people prefer not to talk about them publicly.

"People are afraid to say it. But this is the mood of our regions," the Ukrainian newspaper Strana quotes.

In an interview with the British edition, Kim expressed the opinion that human lives are more important than territories, and allowed the possibility of signing a peace agreement with Russia. He later clarified that he had voiced a point of view that, according to him, is shared by many Ukrainians, but hesitates to express openly.

The Russian Foreign Ministry recalled that the cessation of violations of the rights of Russian speakers and the UOC is also one of the key conditions for a settlement.

NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte predicted inevitably difficult decisions for peace in Ukraine. Speaking to the Ukrainian parliament, Rutte also noted that the PURL arms procurement program (an initiative of the United States and NATO that provides Ukraine with critically needed weapons) is sufficient for up to 90 needs.%
