Former head of the All-Union Pioneer Organization Alevtina Fedulova has died.

Alevtina Fedulova, Deputy Chairman of the first convocation of the State Duma of Russia, chairman of the All-Union Pioneer Organization, as well as one of the founders and long-term leader of the Russian Women's Union, died on February 5 at the age of 85. This is reported on the website of the Komsomol veterans organization Komsomol in Our Destiny.

"For many years we have known <...> Alevtina Vasilyevna as an active leader of the Komsomol and pioneers, the initiator of many useful and necessary things. <...> With her active participation, the country has developed and successfully implemented many necessary and useful forms of work with children, pioneers, and youth," the organization said.

Alevtina Fedulova was born on April 14, 1940 in the city of Elektrostal near Moscow. She graduated from the Krupskaya Moscow Regional Pedagogical Institute (MOPI), as well as the Academy of Social Sciences under the Central Committee of the CPSU. She started her career as a high school teacher. In 1963, she became a member of the CPSU and was a member of the party until 1991.

"With her active participation, the country has developed and successfully implemented many necessary and useful forms of work with children, pioneers, and youth. <...> Our grateful memory of a wonderful man, our colleague and friend will be preserved forever," the organization said.
