The project "Fighting for Schools" has been launched in Ossetia, as part of which children have already started classes in nine educational institutions in North Ossetia. On February 6, the head of North Ossetia Sergey Menyailo, three-time Olympic champion, deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Artur Taymazov and President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili took part in the solemn event on the occasion of the launch of the program, which will cover 20 educational institutions of the republic.

Famous athletes, Olympic champion Zaurbek Sidakov and Olympic bronze medalist Artur Naifonov, started classes during a training session at school No. 9 in Beslan.

The "Fight for Schools" program is part of the United Russia party's "Choice of the Strong" project and was launched in the republic on the initiative of Deputy Taymazov.

"The education of the younger generation, the development of youth school sports is not just a task, it is what the future of our children depends on. The project will make wrestling classes available for schoolchildren of the republic. The guys will be able to try their hand at the carpet and practice regularly, which will help, first of all, everyone to strengthen their health," he said.

Taymazov added that his own athletic path many years ago also began with classes at Nogir school No. 2.

"Of course, I will be very happy if, thanks to our project, one of the guys really gets involved in wrestling and manages to prove himself in this sport," he summed up.
