The twentieth package of European Union (EU) sanctions against Russia will include a complete ban on the transportation of Russian oil. This was announced on February 6 by the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen.

According to her, as part of the new sanctions package, the EU will also blacklist 43 tankers involved in transporting Russian oil.

Von der Leyen stressed that the measures are aimed at further increasing pressure on the Russian energy sector and limiting the possibility of circumventing previously imposed sanctions.
