On Saturday, February 7, Pavel Repilov competed in the luge competition at the 2026 Olympic Games, which take place on the track of the bobsleigh center in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. Following the results of the first day of the competition, the Russian took the 16th place. The athlete competed in a neutral status among luge singles.

After two attempts, the Replay showed a time of 1 minute 47.708 seconds. The German Max Langenhahn is in the lead (1 minute 45.826 seconds). The third and fourth attempts will be held on February 8.

The luge competition will last until February 12th. As a result, five sets of awards will be awarded — in singles and doubles for men and women, as well as in the mixed relay. A total of 106 athletes from 19 countries are participating in luge competitions at the 2026 Olympics.

For 23-year-old Pavel Repilov, this is his first appearance at the Olympic Games. He had previously won the Russian Championships in Sochi in singles and sprints. This success allowed him to join the training of the Olympic team. In 2022, he was awarded the title of Master of Sports.

Pavel joined luge at the age of seven, following the example of his older brother Roman Repilov, a three—time world champion who represented Russia at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. Pavel himself competed at the 2020 Youth Olympic Games in Lausanne (Switzerland), winning two medals.

Earlier, Izvestia reported on Pavel Repilov's chances of winning the 2026 Olympics.
