The former head of the Kursk region, former deputy governor of the region Alexei Smirnov and former vice Governor Alexei Dedov were taken into custody. This was reported on February 6 in the joint press service of the courts of the region.

"In relation to the accused Smirnov, Dedov <...>, a preventive measure has been chosen — detention," the press service's Telegram channel says.
