More than 40 tons of pears from Europe were destroyed at the Sebezh landfill
Two batches of Polish and Dutch pears were destroyed at a landfill in the Pskov region. The total weight of the fruit was 40.8 tons, the press service of the North-Western Interregional Rosselkhoznadzor Administration reports.
The work took place in Sebezh from 4 to 5 February under the supervision of department inspectors. The products were eliminated as part of the implementation of Presidential Decree No. 391 "On certain special economic measures applied to ensure the security of the Russian Federation."
Earlier, Pskov customs officers stopped vehicles with illegal fruits near the village of Kunya. The cargo was illegally imported from the territory of Belarus, bypassing phytosanitary posts.
The products did not have documents confirming their quarantine phytosanitary status and origin. Two trucks were sent to a temporary storage warehouse.
