ISP RAS may start certification of artificial intelligence technologies in the Russian Federation

The V.P. Ivannikov Institute of System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences (ISP RAS) may become a leading participant in the project of a unified certification audit system for Russian-language artificial intelligence (AI) models. It is assumed that the new independent system will assess the compliance of neural networks with technical and regulatory and ethical standards. The audit is planned to be conducted at all stages of the product life cycle: from development to operation. First of all, the requirements will affect developers of solutions for the public sector and critical information infrastructure facilities (CIIS).

Special attention will be paid to the criteria of trustworthiness and reliability of artificial intelligence during certification. Specialists will check the models for vulnerabilities, resistance to attacks, and the absence of manipulative algorithms. The focus will also be on the work of AI in high-risk areas such as medicine and finance. One of the key tasks will be to assess the sovereignty of domestic developments.

According to the source, the choice of ISP RAS as a leading participant in the project is due to the technical expertise of the organization. The institute's Research Center for Trusted Artificial Intelligence (ICDII) is already operating, whose specialists are developing methods for verifying AI technologies. The creation of a full-fledged certification platform will be a logical continuation of the center's current activities.
