Repilov took 14th place in the luge competition at the 2026 Olympics

On Sunday, February 8, Russian luge skier Pavel Repilov competed at the 2026 Winter Olympics, which take place on the track of the bobsleigh center in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy. Following the results of four attempts, the athlete showed 3 minutes 34.963 seconds and took 14th place.

Repilov had four singles during the Games. Two of them took place on February 7, the other two on February 8. The athlete competed in a neutral status among luge singles.

The gold medal was awarded to German athlete Max Langenhahn with a score of 3 minutes 31.191 seconds. The silver medalist was Austrian Jonas Muller (+0.596). The bronze medal was won by Italian luge skier Dominic Fischnaller (+0.934).

The luge competition will last until February 12th. As a result, five sets of awards will be awarded — in singles and doubles for men and women, as well as in the mixed relay. A total of 106 athletes from 19 countries are participating in luge competitions at the 2026 Olympics.

Pavel Repilov is a three-time champion of Russia: He won in 2022 and 2023, and is the champion of the 2020 Youth Olympic Games. In 2025, Repilov received a neutral status to participate in the selection for the Olympic Games. In December, the athlete scored 40 points in the overall standings. In January 2026, Repilov became 17th at the Winterberg World Cup, 19th at Oberhof (Germany), and 18th at the European Championships.

The 2026 Winter Olympic Games officially started in Milan, Italy, on February 6, when the opening ceremony took place. The competition will be held until February 22. 13 athletes from Russia will take part in the Olympics this year. However, they were not allowed by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to participate in the opening ceremony.
