The cordon has not yet been lifted at the site of the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Alekseev.

The courtyard of the house where the attempted assassination of Russian Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev took place is still cordoned off. Footage from the scene on February 6 is published by Izvestia.

"[investigative] groups change regularly, and dog handlers left here not so long ago. Now specialists have entered, most likely with a metal detector <...>, and the perimeter is still cordoned off," said Denis Kulaga, a correspondent for Izvestia.

The cleaning lady at the entrances said that no one was allowed into the house where the investigative measures were being carried out.

The Investigative Committee called the activities of the Ukrainian special services one of the versions of the crime.

On the same day, in an apartment building located on the Volokolamsk highway, an unknown man fired several shots at Alekseev, after which he fled the scene. The victim was taken to one of the city hospitals.

A criminal case has been opened into the incident, and the Moscow Prosecutor's Office has taken control of the investigation. It was later reported that investigators were looking for the man who shot Alekseev. The criminal case is being investigated under articles on attempted murder and illegal trafficking of firearms.
