- Actor Nikolai Tsiskaridze called for the introduction of a dress code for theater visitors
Rector of the Academy of Russian Ballet named after People's Artist of Russia Nikolai Tsiskaridze has taken the initiative to introduce a dress code for theater visitors. He stated this on February 5 during the marathon "Russia is a family of families" organized by the Znanie Society.
"You can't come to the theater in flip-flops, you can't come in shorts, you can't lie down on curbs. This is normal, it's just one person's respect for another and the place where they are," Tsiskaridze stressed. In his opinion, the initiative to introduce the relevant rules should come from the Ministry of Culture.
According to the former premier of the Bolshoi Theater, the requirements for the appearance of spectators in cultural institutions should be regulated by analogy with the rules for visiting temples. He noted that it is not customary to come to church in shorts and with bare shoulders, as this is considered disrespectful.
In November 2025, the lawyer, managing partner of the Intellectual Protection company, spoke about the requirements for the appearance of an employee in companies. He added that such regulations do not apply to everyone and should be specified in the company's internal regulations.
