A resident of Barnaul was arrested for transferring funds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the amount of 24 million rubles. This was announced on February 6 by the press service of the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation in the Altai Territory.
"A 26-year-old resident of Barnaul has been charged with committing a crime under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Financing of Terrorism) <...> and the person involved has been detained," the agency said in a statement on the Vkontakte social network.
According to investigators, in April 2025, the suspect organized a collection of funds in the amount of more than 24 million rubles and purchased cryptocurrency with them, and then transferred it to an electronic wallet that was used to finance units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
It is specified that these funds were intended for the commission of terrorist attacks and other terrorist crimes on the territory of Russia. Currently, the accused has been given a preventive measure in the form of detention, and other circumstances of the crime are being established.
On January 29, a court sentenced a resident of Belgorod to 16 years in prison for transferring funds to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was found guilty of crimes under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("High treason") and Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Financing of terrorism").
