On Sunday, February 8, skier Savely Korostelev will perform at the 2026 Olympic Games in Italy. The athlete will start the skiathlon competition at 14:30 Moscow time and will represent Russia in a neutral status, without using national symbols.
As part of the 2026 Olympic Games, Savely Korostelev has also been announced for a number of other disciplines. On February 10, at 11:55 Moscow time, he will compete in the classic style sprint, on February 13 at 13:45 Moscow time he will take part in the 10 km freestyle race, and on February 21 at 13:00 Moscow time he will take part in the 50 km classic style mass start.
Savely Korostelev was born on November 30, 2004 in Perm. He grew up in a family of athletes: his mother Natalia Korosteleva is an Olympic medalist in cross—country skiing, and his uncle Nikolai Morilov is a bronze medalist at the 2010 Olympics.
At the age of 22, the athlete entered the top ten for the first time at the World Cup stages. In the 10 km classic style race with a split start, he scored the ninth result, covering the distance in 22 minutes 50.6 seconds.
Korostelev achieved a similar result in the multi-day Tour de Ski, where he also finished in the top 10 for the first time in his career. He finished ninth in the 10 km classic style race.
