Comedian Nurlan Saburov refused Russian citizenship, citing "commercial risks." This was announced on January 6 by a source of Izvestia.

According to the source, Saburov, despite his long stay in Russia, did not show any intention of integrating into society. His income from his activities in 2024 amounted to at least 50 million rubles, while he ignored migration and tax regulations.

The source added that Saburov is associated with people accused of anti-Russian activities. Among them are Belarusian comedian Vyacheslav Komissarenko, who is wanted on suspicion of slandering the president of Belarus, as well as Ukrainian comedian Dmitry Romanov, who worked at the Polish headquarters for recruiting mercenaries for Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Saburov was banned from entering Russia. The comedian was banned from entering Russia on January 30. It was noted that this decision was made in the interests of national security.

According to the source of Izvestia, the comedian flew to Moscow from Dubai, two air marshals are advancing behind him, who will forcibly pick him up to be sent to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

In May last year, Saburov was detained at Sheremetyevo Airport for violating migration registration deadlines. The source of Izvestia noted that the comedian had to leave the Russian Federation on time.
