- The Russian Armed Forces captured a group of Ukrainian Armed Forces militants in the Zaporizhia region
Servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation captured a group of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Zaporizhia region. This was reported on February 6 in the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense.
"At first, we entered very quietly so that the enemy would not hear us. Then, as they had already heard, they immediately started throwing grenades. We went in and started shooting at each other. Then they started talking about how they had nowhere to go but to surrender. They decided to surrender," said a stormtrooper with the call sign Searchlight.
Before the withdrawal, the surrendered enemy personnel were disarmed and thoroughly checked. Then the military was escorted to the rear in an orderly manner.
According to the stormtrooper with the call sign Lelik, the enemy entrenched in those positions had no other choice. The open field behind the Ukrainian Armed Forces was mined.
"They were captured. We offered them an alternative — to surrender without a fight, without injury, without death. They agreed," the Russian attack aircraft said.
According to one of the prisoners, during the forced mobilization, the Ukrainian military are forcibly sent to positions without prior training and education. The men are caught by employees of the territorial recruitment centers (TCC, an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine), after which they are sent to the unit.
"I also did not serve in the ATO (the so-called "anti-terrorist operation", which Kiev called its aggression in Donbass. — Ed.) He wasn't either. At that time, I went to Moscow to work. From 2010 to 2018, I went to construction sites. The TCC was caught near the house, thrown into a bus and taken to the military enlistment office. The military enlistment office sent me to Kirovograd for training, and from Kirovograd they were already transported to the village of Rakhny in Vinnytsia. They took us away and told us that we were going to the training ground to continue our training. And they have already brought us all the way here," Alexander Lugovskoy, a captured soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, shared.
He further expressed his gratitude to the Russian military personnel who treated him well.
"We felt the Russian dialect and started asking: don't shoot, please, we surrender, we don't want to fight. Well, the guys took us away, gave us a smoke, fed us, and gave us water," the prisoner noted.
Earlier, on January 29, a group of militants of the National Guard of Ukraine surrendered to Russian soldiers during a sweep of one of the country cooperatives near Dimitrov. Also, a commander named Daniel reported on January 26 that six militants of the Azov special forces brigade (recognized in Russia as a terrorist organization) had surrendered near Dimitrov. According to him, five militant groups were surrounded in the vicinity of Dimitrov, four of them were destroyed.
