Participants in the special military operation (SVO) and their family members are provided with a range of benefits when paying for housing and communal services, including compensation for half of the costs and exemption from bank fees. This was announced on February 6 by Alexander Yakubovsky, a member of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Communal Services.

According to him, the key federal support measure is related to the status of a combat veteran.

"In accordance with Russian legislation, combat veterans are compensated in the amount of 50% of the cost of housing and utilities, including fees for housing maintenance, utilities and contributions for major repairs. The benefit also applies to family members living together," the deputy told RIA Novosti.

Yakubovsky also stressed that for the period of service, there are allowances for payment terms for the participants of the SVO.

"if there are supporting documents for the period of service, penalties and fines for late payment are not accrued," he added, specifying that the regions have the right to introduce additional support measures.

Earlier, on February 5, it was reported that payment for housing and communal services for January must be made no later than February 10, and for February - no later than March 10. It was also noted that you can pay for housing and communal services through banks, mobile applications, portals of management companies and Gosuslugi, as well as at post offices and bank cash desks.
