The Interior Ministry warned about new fraud schemes on the eve of February 14.
On the eve of February 14— Valentine's Day, scammers began using new deception schemes, including creating fake accounts on dating sites or sending messages about an allegedly unexpected flower delivery. On February 5, the Department for the organization of the fight against the illegal use of information and communication technologies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation together with the portal "Explain.rf" warned about this.
So, one of the schemes involves the creation of a fake website for the delivery of flowers and gifts for the holiday. When the victim enters his bank details to pay for the service, the attackers receive all the information.
"Do not follow the links from SMS and emails where they promise products at favorable prices, most likely, this is a scam mailing list. This is another way to lure a person to a fake website. If you have entered such a portal, do not enter data, do not download anything and close the tab," the department noted.
