More than 200 km of federal highways were put in order in the Moscow region in 2025

In the Moscow Region, in 2025, the Federal State Budgetary Institution Centravtomagistral, subordinate to Rosavtodor, repaired more than 200 km of pavement on federal highways. This is reported by the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure with reference to the institution.

The work took place on the most worn sections of the routes M-2 "Crimea", M-5 "Ural", M-8 "Kholmogory", M-9 "Baltia", A-108 "Moscow Big Ring", A-104 "Dmitrov highway". The road workers have updated the upper layers of the pavement as part of the maintenance of the facilities. On the M-2 and M-9, 30 and 57 km were put in order, respectively, on the M-8 — another 20 km. 15 km each were repaired on Moskovsky Bolshoy Ring, M-5 and Dmitrov highway.

Meanwhile, the M-9 Baltia also underwent major repairs on the 118th to 158th km section. According to the online publication Podmoskovye Segodnya, 40 km of the road have been expanded from two to four lanes. Work on the border with the Tver Region has now been completed, and it is planned to complete the renovation of the site in the Volokolamsk area in 2026. It is expected that the capacity of the highway will double.

The overhaul of the R-22 Kaspiy road from 169th to 180th km is also continuing, as part of which the roadway is also being expanded from two to four lanes. The work is scheduled to be completed in December 2026.

In addition, a large-scale reconstruction of the M-8 "Kholmogory" is underway in the Moscow region from the 35th to the 47th km. The road is being expanded from four lanes to eight, new interchanges and bridges are being built. The M-8 Kholmogory is one of the busiest highways in the region, with 220,000 vehicles passing through it per day. Upon completion of the reconstruction in 2028, the capacity of the highway from the MKAD to the Central Ring Road will be doubled.
